"Modultec" is the name of Horlacher’s research and development project into the manufacture of lightweight bodies for energy-efficient vehicles.
The aim of the Modultec project is to create a construction method allowing individually manufactured composite components to be rapidly assembled into a stable, save vehicle body.
The minimal number of components needed plus their multi-functionality should ensure that both the weight and production costs of the body remain low.
The Horlacher two-seater city car is an example of the application of the Horlacher Modultec construction method in this context.
The entire wheel suspension unit with composite leaf springs was developed by Esoro AG in Zürich.
